Truepianos sustain pedal11/3/2022 ![]() ![]()
I didn't like the playing on the website that much as it's not my musical style, but the piano just plays wonderful, comes with many outstanding "presets" like how different players play their Steinway, and is all in all just wonderful for my ears.(I heard some find it a bit "without highs", but you can simply change that, and I always thought that remark was made by people who only heard emulations and no real piano under their fingers). Which is a very warm and nice sounding piano I love best of all. I liked the demo, but had bought the Artvista Grand (kontakt player instrument) from Hans Adamson (find the website P.S.I also hear praise from people who own pianoteq. For now, I'm just having fun messing around with my synth and pedal. TRUEPIANOS SUSTAIN PEDAL SOFTWAREI think software is probably the cheapest and most versatile option as I progress. In order for me to create what I'd consider "good" ambient music, I'll either need to start incorporating software or spend a ton of money on hardware. The advantage of a hardware approach for me is that it's very hands-on and immediate and you really don't have to spend that much money to get started! Just look at what this guy can do with the Volca Keys and a MS70CDR (less than $300 of hardware!): Īdmittedly, my music currently lacks a certain level of sophistication. I was amazed by the kinds of sounds I was getting! So I just bought a cheapish mono synth (BS2) and a cheap multi effects pedal (MS70CDR) and started to experiment. TRUEPIANOS SUSTAIN PEDAL HOW TOThere are incredibly powerful VSTs and DAWs out there that can let you do nearly anything you can imagine, but I didn't know how to begin. I tried starting with software but it was a bit like drinking from a fire hose for me. ![]() ![]() I'm just starting to create ambient music myself. ![]() Since you're already a pianist I think you'll have an easier time than others at finding yourself musically. I guess all I'm saying is that there are many different approaches so you need to find what works for you. Or stick some metal in between the strings and do some prepared piano. You could record the sound of the sustain pedal slamming down and slow that to like 6 minutes. Pianos for example are great for more than just playing notes on. Those are all fairly easy to understand how to use, if that the direction you want to go then you'll have to try to find nice noises around you to sample. Or, you could be like Pharmakon and use a lot of samples and field recordings and time stretching. Those are three different ways that synthesizers work to make sound and they all relate to each other, so you should start with subtractive synthesis as it will translate the best when learning other methods of synthesis. In terms of learning, I'd say that you should try to get comfortable with 3 types of synthesis, additive, subtractive and frequency modulation. Also it's really quite ridiculously cheap for how powerful it is, I wouldn't bother with seaboards at first. It's a very cheap analog synth and it's very good for ambient music (so it seems, I don't own one myself). Although as a piano player, you might prefer hardware and if you do, I'd suggest buying a Korg Volca Keys. You should definitely look into software first, it's cheap and can be easy to use once you get a handle on it. You can find some of my work here and here if you're interested, good luck and have fun! You simply get a nag window asking you to purchase it, other than that the program works just as if you had paid for it. TRUEPIANOS SUSTAIN PEDAL TRIALReaper offers a fully functional demo that continues to work with no limitations after the trial is over. You can also get great results by using the paulstretch standalone program (which is free) to stretch pads or guitar chords you can find online then using Reaper DAW to mix them together and apply effects to them. I've been able to make really great pieces by simply rendering chords to wav files using the aforementioned VST plugins then importing them back into FL studio and time stretching them + applying varying amounts of delay and reverb. I'd highly recommend getting the cheap version of FL Studio which is only 99 bucks and the program itself comes with really good time stretching and automation tools which are very helpful for creating those long, evolving soundscapes. TRUEPIANOS SUSTAIN PEDAL FULLGoogle for the NFG from HG Fortune which is a collection of freeware + full versions of VSTs made by an amazing programmer and ambient lover who passed away a while ago but left all his work to be distributed for free. ![]()
